Vital impulses for research: in the winter term 2022/23 work sociologist Dr. Simon Schaupp resided at ZAK for the first guest professorship „research and society“.

On April 28, 2022, Prof. Dr. Hagner opened the Colloquium Fundamentale with a lecture on the relationship between politics and science in times of crisis.

The KIT receives the "National Award - Education for Sustainable Development" in the category 'places of learning'. The prize money of 10,000 € is to be used for the expansion of the project week "Sustainability Spring Days at KIT".

For its support of volunteer work the 'Verband Deutscher Studierendeninitiativen e.V.' (VDSI) awards KIT the certificate "Engagierte Hochschule" (Committed University) for its support of volunteer work. The application was submitted by the ZAK for the 'Balu und Du' mentoring program.

On 21 July 2022, the KIT Academy for Responsible Research, Teaching, and Innovation (ARRTI) and Prof. Dr. Pirmin Stekeler-Weithofer conducted a discussion on the topic of freedom in science at the Colloquium Fundamentale.

In the Colloquium Fundamentale on 28 June 2022 Prof. Dr. Jakob Edler, Executive Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, talked about Innovation Policy.

In the publication "Future Work - The work of the day after tomorrow. 15 short stories from the future", which was produced as part of the BMBF research project FutureWork, science fiction authors write about the working environment at the beginning of the 22nd century. The anthology is available now.

On 12 May 2022 Dr. Alexandra Kaiser spoke in this summer semester’s Colloquium Fundamentale about societal benefit of research, political influence, and the freedom of science in China.
