Doron Rabinovici, writer and historian, was born in Tel Aviv-Jaffa but he grew up and lives in Vienna. His work comprises short stories, novels and academic articles, as well as theatre plays and audio dramas such as Die Außerirdischen. Roman. (2017), Andernorts. Roman. (2010), Ohnehin. Roman. (2004) and Suche nach M. Roman in zwölf Episoden. (1997) as well as the productions in the Vienna Burgtheater of the contemporary witness project Die letzten Zeugen (2013/15) by Doron Rabinovici and Matthias Hartmann and Alles kann passieren! Ein Polittheater (2018) by Doron Rabinovici, based on an idea by Florian Klenk. In Austria he has frequently spoken out strongly against racism and anti-Semitism. He has received various awards for his work, including the Jean Améry Prize in 2002, the Anton Wildgans Prize in 2010 and the Honorary Award of the Austrian Book Trade for Tolerance in Thought and Action in 2015.
