Racism and Radical Nationalism: On the Current Situation in Poland

 

Prof. Dr. Rafał Pankowski

Prof. Dr. Rafał Pankowski is an associate professor at Collegium Civitas in Warsaw. He studied at Oxford University and at the University of Warsaw, where he received his MA in political science and his PhD. He received his habilitation in sociology of culture from the Institute of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw. Pankowski has served as deputy editor of Nigdy Wiecej (Never Again) magazine since 1996, and he has published widely on racism, nationalism, xenophobia, and other issues. He is currently working as a lecturer at Collegium Civitas and as head of the East Europe Monitoring Centre established by the ‘Never Again’ Association. His publications include Neo-Fascism in Western Europe: A Study in Ideology (1998), Racism and Popular Culture (2006), and The Populist Radical Right in Poland: The Patriots (2010).
