Jordi Solé i Ferrando

Jordi Solé i Ferrando was born in Caldes de Montbui, Spain, in 1976. He received a degree in political science and public administration at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 1998 and a Master's degree in European studies from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) in 2001.
From 2002 to 2007, he worked at the European Parliament as an advisor to the parliament’s members. Since 2007, he is the Mayor of the Catalan city of Caldes de Montbui. Since 2011, he is responsible for international relations in his party, Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (Catalan Republican Left). In 2012, he became the Secretary General of the European Free Alliance, a European Political Party that gathers 40 parties from several European countries in favour of self-determination.
From 2012 to 2015, he was a member of the Catalan Parliament, where he chaired the external affairs committee. In January 2016, Ferrando was appointed as the Catalan Government’s Deputy Minister for external affairs and the EU.
